Teenage Alcoholism
How I can convince my mother that I will not be an alcoholic?
Hey, I'm a teenager, will be 19 in the summer. Am an honor student academic roll, I work part time at an electronics store and .. go figure, I like to party! The problem is that my mother always conferences and receive herself, and I upset every time I go out even just movies. She knows that my friends and I drink almost every weekend, and of course .. March Break matches summer, etc. She says that alcoholism runs in families and not tolerate her daughter being an alcoholic. I can not seem to convince her that I'm much more responsible and mature than you think, and I have the willpower to stop me from becoming an alcoholic. I of course respect your concern, obv. she is my mother. But What I have to say, or what I have to do to help her understand where I come from?
What does your mom have to say, you can not tell they will not be an alcoholic with his family history, unless you simply do not drink can not be sure. I'm sure you think you can handle anything but did the alcoholics in their family when they were young. Do you think you woke up one day and said, "Gee, I think I want to be an alcoholic when I grow up." Alcoholism is a progressive disease that does not know what has until very sick of it.
