Drug Rehab Nj
Why does insurance only cover so little days for drug rehab?

My husband was just admitted to Sunrise House in Lafayette,Nj. This is his first time in rehab. It is a 28 days program but the people who work there tell me we will get lucky if they let him stay for 10 days. Why do they do this?

There are several reasons:

1. It helps keep the cost of insurance down. inpatient rehab is extremely expensive, and the COST of that service, is reflected in how much you pay for insurance.

2. it’s not particularly effective. I think the recividism rate for inpatient rehab (going back out and using) is darned close to 90%.

Bottom line . . .if it’s not painful to you, personally, it’s not going to make you change your behavior. When hubby wants to be clean badly enough to PERSONALLY be responsible for $1,000 a day of inpatient rehab, he’s much more likely to STAY clean.
