Substance Abuse Rehabilitation
I'm stuck in debt. What now?

My situation is sticky. A year ago I was quite comfortable and well off financially. Unfortunately, I became very sick and hit rock bottom with a substance abuse problem. I became involved in a rehabilitation center and as a result, the school had withdrawal and quit my job. After arriving home from work, where it was not to be found and my bills were over my head. The money ran out fast. I had to go home to my parents and focus on staying well and sober. Now that I am stable on my feet again I have found part-time employment. Bills are there, however. I have backup utility bills, cell phone bill $ 500, student loans, debts to banks, etc. Atleast I a couple of thousand dollars in bills of depth and will no longer pay the worse it gets. I have no way to pay at this time these bills, at least not for a few months or more paychecks. What I can do??

Congratulations on your sobriety! the first thing to do is make a budget that you can follow. the best way to start is to know exactly what you have now (although the 0) which is entered and how that will be left after their immediate needs (prescriptions, food, gas for GE to work, etc..) should now know how much and how much the interest and expenses by month bills go unpaid if you are worried about their credit, begin with the student loan because it is likely the only one in your credit report now, if not to start with the most wins and interest rates., add all the sums together to find out what your total debt is then know what percentage of the total debt of each bill represented. take your money left over will have each paycheck and applied to each ticket in direct proportion to the percentage representing each bill of your total debt (ie, your student loan represents 35% of their total debt, pay 35% of the left over money to this account.) before paying to each creditor, but after discovering how money will pay each invoice, (As we speak to each creditor Atleast 2 times, once for debt information, and then this time) the call and find a sum of money to stop future interest and fees. The best thing is to tell the truth. Explain the situation and tell them that if they do not work with you, you will have more choice but to apply for a Chapter 7 bankruptsy, debt is dismissed in its entierty. Atleast ask all additional fees to stop unless the leg and not make the payments. put in a payment plan with them and continue paying until it is free of debt. any extra money you get (gifts, tax returns) apply to the largest if you want additonal help with this, email me and I can send some worksheets and help make a budget
