Substance Abuse Prevention

Is having a PhD make me a better candidate for medical school?
I have a 3.45 GPA BA (Hons) in psychology and am a doctorate in psychology. I want to apply to medical school. I have not taken the MCAT, but usually results very highly on standardized tests. Could have a Ph.D. gives me an advantage? My research focuses primarily on the interaction of health, substance abuse, and training providers. I also have patient work type of promotion.
People with advanced class do have an advantage, but not because of his advanced degree, but because of the way preforms in the MCAT (they tend to do much better.) The fact that all this is in psychology but at the same time, some schools out because it is assumed that you want to pursue psychiatry, and many schools are looking for people who want to be family physicians and internists. But this is only a few schools, most did not care. So no, no will be an advantage, but is likely to preform well above average on the MCAT.
