What problems may have active substance abuse for a person with an anxiety disorder?

What problems are substance abuse active (ie, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, etc.) present in a customer who has an anxiety disorder? What is there for a client with schizophrenia?

Chronic substance abuse may be associated with symptoms of severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia. But it can be difficult to determine whether the use drug abuse is causing the symptoms of schizophrenia, or schizophrenia is promoting drug abuse. Some research suggests a link between the use of a specific drug such as marijuana, and the development of schizophrenia in individuals who have a predisposition to the disease. People with schizophrenia have a higher risk of substance abuse. The reason for this is unclear. But it is possible that consumption of alcohol or drugs to try to alleviate or reduce symptoms of the disease. Unfortunately, substance abuse can increase the symptoms and complicate treatment.
