Inpatient Alcohol Detox
alcohol detoxification … Why wait?

My boyfriend went to an inpatient rehabilitation last week in February for assistance. I have not heard from him since. I know he is going through the withdrawal symptoms so I understand why you have not. I'm just worried. I called the center to ask if he was OK, but did not say anything. Been drinking for years. Bebe anywhere 10-18 a day. He wants to stay clean when you get home! I'm trying to find Al-Anon in my area so I can help you all I can when you leave. I can visit for an hour in a couple of days. I wonder what wait. Any advice I can get would be appreciated!

.. I am very happy to hear he has gone for help and wants to help too since this is a disease family .. You probably do not recognize it, especially if you've never seen him sober for a long time .. This will be a new life for himself and one will not be easy. Many of us slip or relapse a few times before entering the program and stay clean and sober, but there are many who will get the first round and I hope he is one of them … It took 6 years to finally a year and that was six years ago now, I'm happy to say .. Life is much better, but we see this when active in drinking water and / or drug .. If you really want sobriety will do everything we have to, to stay sober, no matter what it takes … This is really a situation of life and death … The best thing to do for him, the best support available, is seeking professional help for you in Al-Anon .. You will need all the support it needs from other alcoholics recovered and going to meetings. There are open meetings that can go, but most are closed meetings for alcoholics only .. How to support is something you have to learn through the program Al-Anon .. Understanding this will be a life change for you and him, things will not be as before because most all be triggers of the drink .. No matter what we all have to learn to live one day at a time, and this is not easy for people to look forward or backward in their lives, but for now this is the only way you will remain sober … He will learn everything you need from others, and a sponsor when he picks one .. The first year will be more difficult for everyone but it's well worth it and certainly wish you both the best in all your efforts .. It is in very good hands and experienced so you need not worry about it … Just be careful of yourself and do what you need to do to get it too …
