Has anyone had any success with any form of treatment for hip dysplasia in labradors?
My 9 month old beautiful chocolate lab has just had x-rays done, and they show a pretty severe case of hip dysplasia 
She is a tough pup, and doesnt act like she is in a huge amount of pain. She still runs around and acts like the happiest puppy in the world even though on the xray it looks like one of her hips is pretty much dislocated.
she does however sit down a lot, struggles getting into a car, never jumps, and finds it hard to get comfortable. I always thought she was just totally clumsy! but i think its because she has never really used her back legs for much other than a little bit of balance.
I am going back to the vet next week, but i want to go in there with a bit of knowledge…

Wow, for a dog to be that young and already diagnosed means she comes from some pretty nasty bloodlines. I hope you didn’t buy her from someone as it’s pretty clear she’s from a backyard breeder/puppy mill.
If her hip is dislocated, she’s probably going to need surgery. If not now, then at some point in the near future.
Dogs hide pain, especially puppies at that age.
I would have a frank discussion with the vet about how likely the treatment is to help. If it’s a longshot, then it’s best to put her down. If you decide you want another lab, buy one ONLY from a good breeder, or buy an adult from a rescue group. http://www.thelabradorclub.com
