What to Look For in a Treatment Center
Deciding to get help, for yourself or a loved one, is the first step but there are many more steps as well. There are many drug Treatment Centers around the country but not all of them hold the same ideals or philosophies. You will first want to find a treatment center that offers you immediate information but also has programs and help to guide you every step of the way to recovery.
A good treatment center will have a variety of programs based not only on the substance that is being abused but also on length of abuse and individual aspects of the addict. No two people are the same, therefore, no two Treatment Programs should be the same. There should be some variations and not a “one size fits all” mentality. You should also be sure that there are caring individuals working in the treatment center. Seeking treatment is not a time for judgment but understanding.
It is best to find a treatment center that offers a holistic approach to healing. This offers physical, spiritual and mental healing for a more complete recovery process. Addiction affects every aspect of a person’s life; therefore, treatment should include every aspect of their life. Only treating the physical or mental aspects of the addiction leaves too much room for failure. The more help that is offered, the better the chances of success will be.
If you are seeking help for a loved one, you will want to find a treatment center that has an intervention program. It used to be thought that only the addict could seek help but now it is known that intervention can be very successful. Help should be available if you wish to plan out an intervention program for someone.
Since recovery often takes more than one attempt, it is important to have a team of dedicated professionals to work with who understand how the addiction and recovery process works. It can take several tries before a complete program is found for an individual that will be successful. A positive approach and outlook are always best when trying to overcome addictions.
Take the time to find out the mission of the treatment center. What philosophies do they subscribe to? Do they offer a multi-level program for success? It is better to ask questions than to wind up with a treatment center that provides you with outdated or substandard services. If you are seeking help for yourself; trust takes time but you should feel comfortable with the person you are dealing with initially. If you are trying to get help for a loved one, make sure they are “team” oriented and are sincere in their efforts to help you to help your loved one.
This is a difficult time for the addict and their loved ones. The good news is that it gets better from here. There is happiness at the other end of addiction; it just takes some time to realize it. There is happiness and there is hope.

UK Newspaper apologizes for trying to legalize pot?
Record numbers of teenagers are requiring drug treatment as a result of smoking skunk, the highly potent cannabis strain that is 25 times stronger than resin sold a decade ago.
More than 22,000 people were treated last year for cannabis addiction – and almost half of those affected were under 18. With doctors and drugs experts warning that skunk can be as damaging as cocaine and heroin, leading to mental health problems and psychosis for thousands of teenagers, The Independent on Sunday has today reversed its landmark campaign for cannabis use to be decriminalised.

Is the drug induced culture finally understanding what conservatives have been saying for all of these years?
Fine, legalize it – I don’t care. I’ll never touch the stuff and if my kids go near it I’ll beat the living daylights out of them – which I’ve told them, which is why they won’t go near the stuff.
But what I can’t stand is when hundreds of gang bangers get convicted on possession because it’s hard to get witnesses to testify about their gang-related activities, and these Libs represent these people as “non-violent drug offenders.”
Look, the cops aren’t out trolling college campuses or rock concerts grabbing potheads. OK? It’s easy to prove possession and that’s a tool they use to lock up really bad criminals who are SO bad that the witnesses to their other crimes are either dead or too scared to testify.
That’s a GOOD thing.
And it’s good RACIALLY – while a lot of the criminals are black, almost ALL of the neighborhoods they terrorize are largely black neighborhoods.

When a Man Loves a Woman $2.89 When a Man Loves a Woman is a dumb title (not another classic pop song, please) for a very smart movie. 28 Days (Special Edition) $2.93 To appreciate 28 Days, it’s best to be thankful that director Betty Thomas hasn’t forced Sandra Bullock into a remake of Clean and Sober. Instead Thomas has balanced her comedic sensibility (evident in Dr. Dolittle and Private Parts) with the seriousness of alcoholism and substance abuse, and she succeeds without compromising the gravity of the subject matter. Some critics have scoffed at the mov… |
