Taxol: cellular function?

Taxol, a drug approved to treat breast cancer, inhibits the depolymerization of microtubules. What affects the function of the cancer cells more cells than normal cells may interfere with Taxol? Explain. A) the maintenance of cell shape b) cilia or flagella c) the movement of chromosomes during cell division d) cytoplasmic

a) maintaining the cells as paclitaxel interferes with the functioning normal distribution of microtubules. Whereas drugs like colchicine cause depolerization microtubules, arrest function of paclitaxel up having the opposite effect: hyper-stabilizes their structure. This destroys the cells' ability to use its cytoskeleton in a flexible manner. In particular, binds to the β subunit of tubulin paclitaxel. Tubulin is the "cornerstone" of microtubules and the binding of paclitaxel locks these building blocks place. The resulting microtubule / paclitaxel complex does not have the ability to disassemble. This adversely affects cell function because the shortening and the lengthening of microtubules (called dynamic instability) is necessary for its function as a mechanism to transport other cellular components.
