Who thinks Andrew demetriou should resign?
Andrew Demetriou is the weakest president the VFL/AFL has ever had. He makes comments about clubs (EG – “Sydney will never win a flag with the style of game they play” Yet win it that year!), exposes gamblers but refuses to name DRUG CHEATS. Is satisfied with Ben Cousins statement to the public without stating why he went to rehab for fear of getting banned!
Tries to BAN a player (AKERMANIS) for speaking out against drugs and told to tell the authorities which he did but was IGNORED! PLUS he allows the game to be reduced into mediocrity!! He is spineless and unlike his predecessors (ROSS OAKEY – VISIONARY and WAYNE JACKSON – STRONG WILLED) seems to be content with allowing the game to become weak. His tenure has been littered with controversy and poor decision making. History will regard him as a JOKE! As well it SHOULD!!!
The only reason I’d want this bloke to resign from the position would be to replace him with someone from outside Victoria.
It’s AFL now – not still the VFL. The sooner these Vic clubs, who can’t financially support themselves, were made to stand on their own two feet the better.
The AFL falls over backwards to support these clubs over the teams from outside Vic. Having a president from SA, for example, would do the competition the world of good.
