What student alcohol and drug search at school?
I am especially looking for responses from students and anyone work in a school setting (if a school employee please say what you do) Everyone, please give your name and the school district (pseudonyms are well) Here are some questions to answer: What% of students in their consumption of alcohol at school? drugs? What do you think is the biggest problem in your school? What kind of drug prevention programs are in place? Are they effective? If teachers do more to address the problem? What think you can do to solve the drug and alcohol abuse among adolescents? Any other comments?
I go to a Catholic high school in Waterloo, ON 1. I would say at least 70% of students at our school have at least tried drugs or drinking before (something Probibly as 20% on a regular basis) 2. The biggest problem Our school drug is marijuana, I know we have distributors in our school and students often come to class high, although our school is known for good grades and good behavior to students. 3. The guidance counselor will have one or two prevention programs, but if you are caught with drugs at school has to have a meeting Counsell with our school, so it is moderately effective. 4. This is a question more difficult to treat because the teachers themselves should not be involved with the consumption of drugs and the habits of the students because their jobs have to teach. Instead, schools must have a specific department of the powers to deal with health of students. 5. I do not think the problem may be "solved" because drugs and alchohal are what many teens turn in difficult times or when feel isolated, and some prefer to do it for pure recreation. More awareness of the effect it can have on you later down the road could attack the problem however. If you want any further information feel free to add.
