Chronic Pain Treatment Center
What kind of doctor should I go?

I have been taking methadone in a treatment center for the past two years. I stopped going there, but I have still my underlying problem of chronic back pain has been there for years. Back pain is the reason I started to self-medication in the first place. I'm not one to take what I can get my hands on kind of person. I only took somethhing for pain because he had no insurance. Now, I do not know what to do because of my past. Is a doctor to treat my pain, but I have these problems with my past? What kind of doctor should I start. I'm trying to find a script. at all, but if you need help with this. I can not even do little else. I lied to people about how much MMT took me and how I took it was the only way I could afford any treatment. Have I screwed now?? Do I have to live in this pain forever now? Please help …

A good doctor will assess your pain, hear her story, and diagnose / prescribe enough. That is, they will do this if and only if you are honest from the start. Honesty shows that it is hiding a drug problem (I understand they need the medicine due to chronic pain, and understand that you do not have one) and that you are here to rid of his chronic physical pain. If you lie and the doctor finds, trust is gone. A good doctor-patient relationship is essential for proper treatment. I seek a physiatrist (doctor specializing in pain). If you need a referral, you have to go through a regular doctor first. Just be honest with the person you choose and trust them to treat you fairly.
