California Drug Rehab Centers

In 1980, a special program has been developed for doctors with drug abuse problems and alcohol. The program allows physicians to continue practicing while subjected alcohol or drug rehab. However, according to the Medical Board of California (MBC), five progress reports on the program have proven to be ineffective and dangerous for patients. The MBC has decided to cancel the program starting next June. Unless the program is extended by the legislation, doctors with problems abuse of alcohol and drugs can then have their licenses revoked with zero tolerance. The doctors who abuse drugs or alcohol would be prudent to take a leave of absence and go into a successful alcohol and no drug rehab program rather than taking the risk.
The program requires evidence of alcohol or drugs group therapy and psychotherapy sessions, and an independent monitor appointed to supervise the practice of each physician. However, according to state reports, these requirements are easy to mess with: sometimes the monitor is an employee of the physician who has been ordered to lie, no one guarantees that the doctor attending sessions therapy, or urine test performed on a predictable schedule for the doctor may also schedule your intake of alcohol or drugs accordingly.
A physician enrolled in five years, said he was able to cheat the system for years and almost "graduated" while still using drugs.
One of the main reasons for the failure of the program may be that doctors still practice while undergoing alcohol treatment Drug abuse is not without access to Drug Rehabilitation inpatient long-term, which is the most successful.
The audience that prompted the MBC for complete alcohol and drug rehabilitation program included testimony from 10 patients who were harmed by the registered doctors. One woman said she was disfigured for plastic surgery that he later learned was inappropriate for their condition. The plastic surgeon has two drunk driving arrests and several reports of neglect patients, but was allowed to continue in practice.
More than $ 500,000 has been invested recently to solve the problems found in the first four reports, but state auditors are not impressed with the improvements. "… The medical board has not always provided effective oversight," wrote the auditor Elaine Howle, in his report. Julianne D'Angelo Fellmeth, a lawyer for the University of San Diego Center for Public Interest Law, called the program "a sham and a mockery."
The program is 400 doctors each year. Currently 249 are enrolled. Of these, 140 were ordered in the program by the medical board, and 99 entered the program because they were encouraged to do so by family, friends or colleagues.
There are 35,000 doctors in California and they all worked hard and long to get where they are. California has many successful programs alcohol drug rehabilitation. If you know a doctor who is abusing drugs or alcohol, make a successful alcohol and no drug rehab program now. Do not let all the risk they have worked, and life and health of their patients.
