Alcohol Treatment Vancouver Island

We've all made New Year's resolutions and that we all have at some time in January or February. Have you noticed how the gym is very busy throughout the first month of year? The same generally applies to the objectives of the plan. After the excesses of Christmas and New Year, most often vow not to touch alcohol or dessert time. But sometimes it is more difficult to achieve a principle!

In small steps is a great way to make lasting changes in your diet. Just do one thing at a time. I tell clients to buy one new thing every time they go shopping. Do not throw it all away in their closets ~ just do not buy it again if it is not good for you and to replace the basic food needs with healthy versions, such as flour, bread, sugar and snacks.

Being organized is one most important tools. Never be hungry. Always have healthy snacks and homemade cakes on hand. Knowing what we eat during the week and buy accordingly (a list). Do not be trapped and hungry, with nothing planned! This is a sure way to blow all its good intentions. Too busy? Take a half hour each week to write a meal plan and shopping list. Take an hour to prepare something filling and health (energy balls, square nuts granola, bread, vegetables, nuts and mixed fruit). Same can be stored in freezer individually prepared in sacks, so you can make a gesture with his head in the door, knowing he will not be stuck in traffic with hunger! And remember to always have a stainless steel bottle filled with water that will last all day!

Cooking in large quantities works and a time (and stress!) The energy saving technology. Always cook soup or stew or casserole, make additional and freeze. Thus, the days they do not feel like nothing is cooking some home cooking and heating for dinner. Leftovers are also great for lunch the next day. Additional usually cook for dinner, then place in a container in the fridge ready for me to work for the next day. This saves me having to think in the morning.

Make eating fun! Try new recipes. Shopping at a farmers' market and find new foods. Cooking with the family. Make all those responsible for family meals. Be adventurous! Make every meal a celebration with candles, placemats, napkins and music. It is much easier to make changes if you make together.

Get support from friends, family and matches. Tell them what are your goals. You'll be much more accountable for their actions once you've told people about them! Write your goals and post them in your home where you can read and remember every day.

Take a cooking class. Join a support group. Home gardening. New learning nutritious foods that your body is something! And make it one week at a time.
