Alcohol Treatment Guidelines
Alcohol Treatment Guidelines

When given a chance an addict would prefer to revert back to a normal life and sustain it without the fear of going back to addiction ever again. These hopes and expectations become a reality when reinforced by alcohol counseling prior to commencing treatment, during treatment and even after treatment. The counseling process usually involves the addict, the counselor and the family members. Since every patient is unique and his addiction differs from others, therapy must be modified for him. The patient is evaluated regularly, and his program might change as treatment progresses to adjust to changed responses.
The disease alcoholism is chronic dependence on alcohol which cannot be stopped by an addict of his own volition due to the compulsive nature of withdrawal effects. This can cause health troubles, correlation problems, cognitive ability, and affects person’s ability in holding on to his job and functioning normally in society and above all his family at the core. These are other problems associated with the main ones which are attacks of delusions, hallucinations, anxiety, tremors and heart collapse. Addicts are monitored during the process of detoxification and once the detoxification completes alcohol counseling is started. This is a process of regenerating and refurbishing the individual into a fully functional human being.
Medications used during detoxification induce a dislike for alcohol consumption and help restore the individual to a state of abstinence with least pains. Hence the detoxification process speeds up.. Apart from medicines used for detoxification, a nutritious diet is very important. This dietary therapy involves the use of multi vitamins and mineral supplements through tablets, fresh fruits and vegetables. During this process he is kept off caffeine, sugars, carbohydrates and dead junk food. Plenty of small servings of fruits and vegetables hasten cleansing of the body and revitalization of the tissues.
Cognitive counseling helps an individual look within himself and realize his condition from a bird’s eye view. Dissociative analysis of himself will enable him to perceive his faults and also his good points and identify ways and means to change for the better.
Counseling inspired motivations help him set goals and targets for himself which he works to achieve with support and encouragement of counselors and family.
Physical exercises and being involved in social activities steer him back to society and reintegrate him as a social creature. Look outwards, make friends, care for others, handle relationships, shoulder responsibilities are on his checklist and he works on these. Should he feel lost on the way or have doubts, counselors are always available to help him find solutions and the means.
Meditation and holistic remedies will teach him how to integrate body and soul into a strong entity that will be in self control all the time and in most circumstances so that he never feels the urge to drink. Mindfulness techniques as these are known in counseling, form an important part of therapy since the body controlled by the mind can always remain free of addiction.

what should of acne treatment product is best for me?
I have mild acne in the T-zone (forehead mostly), a lot of white heads on my cheeks, blackheads on my nose and chin and pretty wide pores. My face is very oily and my hair has to be washed every other day to prevent oily-ness. I’m looking for something to treat all my issues.
I’ve tried proactive, neutrogena, clean & clear, and a rubbing alcohol and peroxide mix. all products reacted the same to my skin-a major improvement on acne for the first week, only for it to come back and no change on pore size or white heads.
At this point I’m open to suggestions, but have some guidelines:
1.NO PILLS!! if it’s not FDA approved, there’s a reason!
2. NO home treatments-you’re not a dermatologist and I doubt you know what you’re doing in all honesty.
3.The price of the product shouldn’t exceed $60/month
4.If you’re answer is ‘go see a doctor’ don’t bother answering
Birth control pills. Something like ortho cyclen, which is used to treat acne and should sort out the greasy hair issue as well if it’s hormonal.

Some critics have scoffed at the mov… |
