Alcohol Rehab Colorado
How I can help my alcoholic brother homeless? How is your story?

My brother is 35, in Denver. I'm out of state. He is homeless, alcoholics, some drug use. He lives under bridges and couch surfs. It does not work. Had seizures related to their alcohol consumption. He has been in and out of rehab often. It has burned all his ships. I will not take him here, no public transport for him to go to work and I do not want my children exposed to their customs. I called several homeless shelters and programs. You have to want to sober up and make a change. He is addicted to time (but not a drug addict.) He is in AA, but the drinks. Is there any way to get help him in Colorado? It will not stop drinking. I want the really ugly. We have you covered sugar for so long that it has become no education, no qualifications for the job, broke, drunk and alone in the world as we were sending him to rehab and pretending he was OK. He can not drive and his only possessions are the clothes he wears.

I am not a fan of 12-step programs, but there is something that is said in Al-Anon that I think is very true: "You did not cause and can not be cured." That is the sad truth. All meetings of AA and rehabilitation in the world will not help a person who does not want help. There is no magic, and all that really matters is the desire to change. Your brother is a tragic example of this truth. I am a former alcoholic myself (10 + years of abstinence), and even do not understand why this is so, why some People come to a place where those who want to change their lives and some people do not.
