Alcohol Drug Detox

Is stress a major factor in causing premature delivery deadline?
I was wondering, because I have a lot of stress both in my life right now. " My work in particular. I work full time as a nurse in charge of a drug or alcohol detoxification unit, and every night I work I feel overwhelmed, stressed and anxious especially when patients swear and threaten you.sometimes you just go home and night cry.Last my chest felt tight and my blood pressure went up, before leaving work. Me feel bad for the baby, because I know that the baby feels what you feel. How common is premature labor do to stress in this way? any in a similar situation? It's easy to say, I can quit my job, but I really need to work as long as possible, no one will want to hire a woman is 29 weeks pregnant. some advice please! (In addition to taking a holiday …. need to save the time of maternity leave.) Currently I have four children. ages 13,11,3, and 13 months. Thank you for your help.
I personally I can attest that stress is an important factor in preterm labor. My husband was sent to Iraq when was about 4 months pregnant, was in February 2005. I was due and July 5 at 29 weeks, I was admitted for preterm labor. That specific time, I had a horrible urinary tract infection and was very very sick. They put me on bed rest for four weeks. Well, a little after four weeks of the mark, which put me in a little over 33 weeks, I received a phone call from my husband and he was in a bomb attack … I was sooooo stressed out! He was beaten pretty bad, but luckily there were no life threatening injuries. He received the Purple Heart though. Over the next three days, I worried and stressed and all I wanted was for him to be home that so I knew he was safe and where he was at all times. The next morning I woke up with some pain and went to hospital … I was in active labor. I delivered my son, who was 6 weeks premature on May 25, 2005, and to my surprise, was a healthy 6 pounds 11.5 ounces! The only thing wrong with him was that he needed help breathing immediately after birth … for about 5 minutes until he realized that he could do it yourself. He went home three days later! So yes, I believe that stress is an important factor in labor before term. It has been widely studied or not. My advice to you is this … if this is your only means of income for you and your family, try holding out as long as possible. I am sure that is tremendous stress on you and your baby … and those at home. Talk to your boss and see if there is something a little less stressful it can do. Being nearly 30 weeks pregnant, even 3 weeks pregnant, my mind would be scared to do the kinds of jobs that are doing! You are a very strong woman! To see if there are alternatives in place of work. Better yet, discuss this with your obstetrician, see what they suggest. You can give a written order your employer saying, this is how it will be … if you do not like bad luck! There is nothing we can do about it! Can not fire you if you have an order in writing of any provider of health care, especially if you're pregnant … it's a game of law about to happen! I hope everything goes well for you and your family. Go ahead!
