Addiction Rehabilitation
Friend going through a drug addiction, what should I do?

Well, first I have a question that needs answering. If my friend tried unsuccessfully commit suicide under the influence of drugs, you know? And since you are sending to rehabilitation or what would be his choice? Also, what are some other options besides rehab centers to help recovery from drug addiction? If you have any additional information would be very appreciated. Thanks

It is likely that if your friend tried to commit suicide that would know about it. Very few drugs cause blackouts (complete loss of memory a period of time). Alcohol is the only drug that I know you have that kind of effect. Unless you were on a hallucinogen such as acid or mushrooms then your thoughts suicide would be with them even when they were sober. If you are under age then their parents can put them in rehab against his own wishes. If you are 18 years or more of rehabilitation is voluntary. As for alternatives to rehabilitation, both AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) have success for many people. But NOBODY will be closed until they are ready. There is no magic fairy dust to combat addiction. Usually, a constant struggle, and very difficult to beat. That's why most former addicts say they are a recovering addict or alcoholic. Because addiction is a disease that is treatable, but there is no cure.
